Pondering on a wet Sunday morning
It is currently a little after 7 a.m. Sunday morning today. I have already taken a shower and the coffee is nearly done. Kelli and the kids are still lying in bed. The kids had another sleepover in the living room. On non-school nights they love sleeping in the living room while watching TV. They call it a sleepover in the living room. : )
Yesterday morning the fog was really thick here. It remained this way till after 8 a.m.
We started to put Christmas decorations out yesterday. I arose 6 a.m. and pulled down all the boxes from the attic. (Pause, I had to go get me a cup of coffee, the pot was ready)
Man, some of them felt like they were lined with lead. We have nearly 15, at the time felt like 30, boxes including a box of wrapping paper. Fortunately for me this is only once a year. My favorite part of this annual event is pulling out the old pictures of the kids. You know the ones I am referring too. They look so young and innocent in those pictures. As they gain on the number of Christmas’s they really have changed. For some reason I am really looking forward to this Christmas. The toys we have for the kids this year are for the bit older. This year the kids actually bought gifts for others on their own with their own allowance. They are making gifts for those they couldn’t. The difference is it was their idea this time. They are just growing up and its times like these that really make me realize it.
We as everyone else are so busy we usually don’t have time to scratch our butts much less hold someone’s hand. But on mornings like today as I sit alone in my home office while everyone else remains asleep, I stop and think upon these things.
